Connecting a gas appliance?

We make the gas connection a cooktop, oven, heater or BBQ needs, fit the right bayonet or fixed connection, leak-test it, and certify the work.

The short answer: Connecting a gas appliance is licensed gas work, not a job for a handyman. We connect cooktops, ovens, heaters and BBQs, test the connection, and certify it.

Each appliance has its own connection and clearance requirements. We connect it to standard and check it is gas-tight before you use it.

Appliance connection is core gas work; for cooktops specifically see gas cooktops, and if there is no gas point yet see gas line installation.

Indoors, many appliances use a bayonet so you can disconnect for cleaning; fixed appliances are hard-connected. We fit whichever suits.

Outdoor BBQ points let you run the BBQ off mains gas instead of swapping bottles, and we can add one where the line allows.

A plumber or electrician cannot legally connect the gas; it needs a gas fitter. We hold the gas licence (GF014397) and certify the work.

An incorrect connection can also void the appliance warranty, so it pays to have it done right the first time.
