For the install, yes, at least to let us in and agree where the indoor and outdoor units go. Once the placement is set and we have access, much of the work carries on without you needing to stand over it.

A standard single-head split system is usually most of a day. It depends on the pipe run between the indoor and outdoor units and whether a new circuit is needed, so a straightforward back-to-back install is quicker than one with a long run.
